City Code 8-2-12 Prohibited Acts and Activities

1. Outdoor Watering: No person shall conduct outdoor watering, including, but not limited to, the irrigation of lawns, shrubs, flowers, trees, gardens and other outdoor vegetation between the hours of twelve o’clock (12:00) noon and seven o’clock (7:00) P.M. effective between May 1 and September 30 each year, except:
   1. Discharged water from a water cooled refrigerated air conditioner system (Must apply for exception at City Hall or call 872-5322);
   2. Newly seeded lawns for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days. (Must apply for exception at City Hall or call 872-5322); and
   3. Merchants engaged in the seasonal retail sales of live plants including, but not limited to, bedding plants, flowers, vegetables, fruits, trees and shrubs.
2. Resale Of Water: No water shall be resold or distributed by the recipient thereof from the city supply to any premises other than that for which application has been made and the meter installed, except in case of emergency.
3. Tampering: It shall be unlawful for any person not authorized by the city to tamper with, alter or injure any part of the city waterworks or supply system, or any meter.
4. Unlawful Connection: No person shall make any connection to the waterworks system of the city without the permission of the city. (Ord. 1141, 6-3-2013)

City Code 4-7-5 Burning Prohibited

It shall be unlawful for any person to burn solid waste within the corporate limits of the City unless an approved incinerator is provided or unless a variance has been obtained from the appropriate air pollution control agency. (1983 Code 5-404)

Solid Waste:
Unwanted or discarded waste materials in a solid or semi-solid state, including, but not limited to, garbage, ashes, street refuse, rubbish, dead animals, animal and agricultural wastes, yard wastes, discarded appliances, special wastes, industrial wastes and demolition and construction wastes.

Section 10.24. Unlawful Storage, Sale Or Discharge Of Fireworks

1. Fireworks cannot be stored within city limits, unless it's for a public performance. Such storage must be in a safe place, securely locked or guarded so that no child or unauthorized person has access and is protected from fire hazards. The fire chief of the city can inspect the storage.
2. Fireworks cannot be sold within city limits.
3. Fireworks cannot be discharged within city limits, except:
   1. At a public event approved by the governing body.
   2. Fireworks between the hours of 11 A.M. and 11:00 P.M. on June 30 through July 3 and between the hours of 11:00 A.M. and midnight July 4, unless banned due to fire danger. A notice of a ban will be published in the official city paper on or before June 20.

Unlawful storage, sale or discharge of fireworks is a class C violation
