Applications to the Planning & Zoning Commission

Applications can be made to the Planning & Zoning Commission any time a desired building project, residential or commercial, is contrary to current City Code. The City Inspector helps property owners in figuring out whether an application needs to be made for any of the following: Variance to City Code, Change in Zoning, Conditional Uses for specific zones, Lot Splits, Vacations, Platting a Plot of land, or to extend an existing, previously approved application.

How to Obtain an Application

Applications can be obtained HERE or at City Hall. The office of the City Clerk must publish a public notice in the weekly publication Scott County Record, the City’s official newspaper, at least 20 days prior to the scheduled hearing date. To meet this requirement, applications are due at City Hall at least 30 days prior to the scheduled hearing date for review and approval of the application’s content.

Meetings

The Planning & Zoning Commission meets at 6:00 p.m. on the 2nd Thursday of each month as set by the City Code. The meetings are held in the Council Room in City Hall.
