If a project costs you more than $15,000, consider applying. To ensure participation in NRP, applicants are HIGHLY encouraged to complete NRP application and pay the filing fee of $50 at the BEGINNING of their project. There is a 90-day application window from start date - after January 1, 2023.

There is a $50.00/project non-refundable application fee due to County Appraiser.

For residential projects (single & multi-family), the NRP offers a ten (10) year property tax rebate on qualifying improvements at 95% for years 1-5 and 75% for years 6-10.  Modification of single family home to multi-family home is NOT eligible for NRP benefits.

For agricultural, commercial and industrial projects, the NRP offers a ten (10) year property tax rebate on qualifying improvements at 75% for all ten (10) years.

Non-real estate items such as sprinkler systems, fences, gazebos, landscaping, hot tubs, swimming pools, patios, irrigation wells and equipment are not NRP eligible projects.

Yes, taxes are not eliminated under NRP. Owners must first pay real estate taxes. Rebate is made once taxes are paid for the full year. NRP benefits apply to the improved assessed value, not existing assessed value of property.

If NRP applicant is late AT ALL paying real estate taxes they will immediately be removed from the NRP and forfeit any future tax rebates.

• All NRP projects must conform with building codes , rules and regulations within their jurisdiction in effect at the time improvements are made.
• "Structure" is defined as: any building, wall or other structure including the building and improvements to existing structures and fixtures assimilated to the real estate.
• Most of Scott County is contained within the NRP Area Map, however, not all. Refer to the NRP Area Map for clarity.
